A long cut ham with the most distinctive pungent flavor and salt content. As prescribed by law and strictly adhered to by our curemasters, world famous Smithfield Hams are first dry salt cured, then spiced and slowly smoked to perfection using oak, hickory and apple woods. Aged for nearly a year, these hams are carefully cooked and closely trimmed. The dry salt curing process used for Smithfield Hams is a time honored method of preserving meats that was handed down from our Colonial forefathers. The process itself results in a unique tangy taste that distinguishes Genuine Smithfield Hams from the other less salty, milder smoked hams.
Uncooked in traditional cloth sack, 13 -15 lbs. To serve slice "tissue thin" to properly capture the unique Smithfield taste and delight your guests. Use a stiff brush to remove surface mold if present. This mold is in no way injurious. Aged hams, like aged cheeses, mold in the process.
This product is shipped by UPS directly from Smithfield. Perishable items are shipped UPS Mon. - Wed. UPS delivers Mon - Fri. Items ordered together may be shipped separately. If Express Delivery (2 transit days after processing) is desired, it needs to to be selected on the drop down bar on this page when ordering. This will add $10.00 to shipping. Express Delivery is required for Alaska and Hawaii. Next Day Air and 3 Day Select shipping are not offered for this item.
